  • Mosquito Abatement Program – The Mosquito Control Program:  West Nile encephalitis, a mosquito transmitted disease, was first documented in North America during the summer of 1999, when an outbreak occurred in New York City.  Since that time, cases of West Nile Virus (WNV) infections have been confirmed in the northeastern, north central and southern regions of the United States as well as last summer in the State of Illinois.  The strain of WNV circulating in the United States causes significant mortality in exotic and native bird species, especially in the American Crow.  Dead birds serve as an early warning that the virus may be active in your area.

WNV is transmitted by infected mosquitoes, primarily Culex, Andes and

Ochlerotatus SPP, the northern house mosquito, is a common household

mosquito and the primary vector of WNV.  Mosquitoes lay their eggs in any

standing water.  Eggs hatch usually within 48 hours and mosquitoes will develop

within three to five days after hatching.  Our company is now licensed and

certified by the State of Illinois for mosquito control.  This includes inspection of

your property to identify where mosquitoes may be laying and hatching eggs on

            your property.
